"Shakti Mahila Sangh Bahu-Uddeshiya Sahkari Samiti, Maryadit" Majholi or Shakti Mahila Sangh (SMS) registered as "Shakti Mahila Sangh Swayat Sharita Maryadit, Majholi" under the Madhya Pradesh Swayatta Sahkari Adhiniyam, 1999 on April 2nd (Amended Madhya Pradesh Sahkari Society Adhinium 2012), 2007 with objective to use the power of the collectiveness for financial inclusion along with livelihood support. SMS believes that financial services are not sufficient to bring the positive change in the lives of our members, but it also requires livelihood support for the same.

Shakti Mahila Sangh provides a range of financial and livelihood support services to its members.SMS activities are primarily aimed at eradicating poverty with particular emphasis on empowering women. Revolving around these objectives and stakeholders, SMS interventions are focused around its 4 thematic areas of:

  • Women Empowerment through financial inclusion.
  • Imparting financial literacy to poor household.
  • Livelihood Promotion.
  • Health.

Initially SMS operating in 6 district and was covering almost 750 villages from 9 branches initially. Now, SMS is operating in 6 districts i.e. Katni, Jabalpur, Mandla, dindori, seoni, narsinghpur with 9 branches of Madhya Pradesh. Further, SMS is proposed to convert in multipurpose, multi state society Ltd. Under multi State cooperative society act 2002 and wants to expand in Uttar Pradesh to serve more poor and achieve its mission.
